This set of Walkers gallopers where built in 1911 for Frank Wilson unfortunately Frank died on 20th Dec that year leaving his wife Caroline to continue until her death in Nov 1916.The ride was then put into storage for their son Rueben as his inheritance. Him & his brother Edward where taken into care, Edward to William Wilson at Peckham and Rueben with his aunts Maud and Eliza one was married to Joseph Allport. The aunts passed away so Rueben took to the road at the age of 14.When it came to claiming his inheritance he was at first denied access, but with the help of John Joe O’Neil ( Pat O’Neils father) he gained entry only to find the original set had been replaced with an old shabby set, with which he started his career.
